As a citizen, we have the right to vote on any matter that comes before our government. But since we have constructed a Personal representative government, we allow this Representative to vote our PROXIES though our agreed election of said person. And we either agree or disagree with their voting history and vote them into or out of office every 2 years or 6.  I feel that the problem with this current corruptible construct is the semi-permanence of the personal representative. In this method, these individuals can be corrupted for the sake of the Proxies they represent for their term of office.

Now imagine if their constituent base could CHANGE who is allowed to hold onto their Proxies. This would change the total balance of SOMEONE having pre-defined group of proxies. This would also allow citizens to use their proxies as tools to back or not back a certain person who shares or does not share their particular stance on a given issue. I mean who really thinks that their representative actually has the same stance on every issue that they have? But, it would be a great thing if we could take our issue specific proxies and give them over to individuals who DO represent our specific way of thinking on a given issue, and once this person gains more and more proxies, then THEY get more and more influence regarding this issue. It is as if, on an issue by issue basis we can elect a tailor made representative to carry our vote to the final vote.

In this way, and through constant feedback oversight, we would have an instantaneous direct representation governmental body, that is virtual in nature.  We could take our proxies at the drop of a hat, If need be and either vote them ourselves or give them to another virtual representative that suits our feelings better. There would be no meetings or hobnobbing with other elites of power. In fact one whole house of Congress could be abolished. This would have to be an internet based electoral reform that would serve now and the future; to make the best of the American “experiment” that has been taken hostage by groups (corporations) that do not even have the right to vote. How ridiculous is it that we allow those that do not have a right to vote, have a say in how the government elects its representatives.

The American experiment has shown that we need to change the paradigm for it to continue. I believe that this virtual direct representative government can be tweaked so that it fits the bill.

Pun intended.
